#B0 ASTROLOGY ON EARTH

There are curiously many different beliefs on Planet Earth concerning astrology. This is one planet where you are free to form an opinion.

It's easy for me to relate to those who see the wisdom of astrology on this planet, because my personal beliefs are similar. It is the earthlings who vehemently abhore or repudiate astrology that arouse my curiosity.

It seems that the inhabitants of Earth that have the most difficulty with astrology are those who already have their minds made up, otherwise they actually don't care much one way or the other ! What this means to me is that certain humans deliberately hold viewpoints that resist the astrological experience. My only guess that these individuals have had some colorful astrological experiences in their past lives that they would prefer not to reexperience.

Out of the entire planetary population it is organized religions that seem the most opposed to astrology, followed next by the applied scientific community. Somehow the idea of universal synchonisticity throws both of these groups for a loop. There is also another bunch of objectors which I could only characterize as those who argue for the sake of arguing. It goes without saying, Earth is also known as the planet of Contention!

No one on earth can deny that the night skies are a source of wonderment to humans. Most societies began living "close to the land" and have naturally connected reoccurring celestial cycles with earth events. Until three or four hundred years ago astronomy and astrology were one and the same. Stargazers studied not only the movements of celestial objects but also strived to discover their meaning as related to Earth and its inhabitants.

Today the common view is that astronomy and astrology hold antagonistic positions. Actually they exist in the same manner that the body and mind are divided into the studies of physiology and psychology. From one outlook they are different and from another view they are actually one. The outlook obviously depends upon the perspective! These considerations elicit what is possibly the most asked question in Earth history "What does this all this mean?"

Perhaps it means whatever is believed appears true for the believer. Humans don't yet recognize that as they change their beliefs everything around them takes on a new appearance and new meaning. For instance, Earth has changed incredibly in the last three hundred years. It was the beliefs of the Industrial Revolution that encouraged the physical exploitation of Earth resources. And likewise the new global viewpoints of the Information Revolution will have its effect!

I wish that I could somehow relate to humans how helpful Astrological beliefs can be. They present the opportunity to sense the greater cosmic connections and be an important and inherent, rather than an accidental, part of the whole. While it's true that many current planetary astrological beliefs are rather earthbound and reflect only a fraction of the cosmic awareness that is possible, this situation is changing fast with the onset of the Aquarian Age.
