Just about anyone in the Western world over the age of ten or twelve years old knows their "sign. " That's the expression used to indicate the zodiac placement of the sun on the day of their birth. "Signs" are used by earthlings in efforts to get to know each other. It's is common for one human to approach another saying "What's your sign?" Although I gather it's a "turn-on" for some folks, it's also said to be a "turn-off" for others. So how's a person to know? Oh, well, what can you expect? This is Earth, the planet of contradictions! SunSign Astrology is found everywhere, especially in newspaper columns, newsstand astrology magazines and on television celebrity shows. It can be recognized by lots of glittering generalities and a showy use of the zodiac symbols. Quite a number of SunSign sites have popped up on the Internet and I've listed some on my Hot Links page. From my observations I would say that SunSign Astrology falls within the category of a loosely organized personality based belief system. Various human characteristics such as stubbornness, alertness, neatness, boldness, or suspiciousness are assigned to each of the twelve zodiac constellations. Earth people of each SunSign are expected to recognize those specific qualities in themselves and they do so ,easily, maybe too easily! Frankly to say that one-twelfth of the world's population is alike, because they were born in the same thirty day period stretches the credibility. Still it's true that if anything is studied closely enough some truth is to be found in its patterns or arrangements. Admittedly this is a belief of mine, but it is also commonly held as an organizing principle behind all oracles throughout the known Universe. Whatever truth may be found in SunSign astrology, it is not nearly as much as many humans might want there to be! Regrettably the immense popularity of SunSign Astrology overshadows other types of astrology which might offer Earth inhabitants more in terms of growth potential or spiritual awareness. A lot more could be gained personally from Natal Astrology. Still my all time vote goes to Celestial Astrology, the field of which I am most familiar. Despite whatever value SunSign Astrology holds in helping earthlings to understand their general nature, I really can't see it having any great use for guiding the affairs of daily life. It is difficult to understand why millions read those little paragraphs and columns looking for advice. I'd have to guess that Earth people enjoy being told that one day of the week is better than another. If anything, I've discovered SunSign Astrology is mostly entertaining! So I decided to have some fun too! I'm assembling lists of Famous People born in each of the signs. And I've composed some standard Sun Sign Readings for each sign of the zodiac.
