Rebuilding our communities one block at a time...
Midtown on Blanco

Fannie Mae realizes that rebuilding our communities happens one block at a time. An example of organizations working together to better our community is our investment in the Midtown on Blanco Revolving Loan Fund. Fannie Mae provided a corporate contribution to establish a revolving loan fund to help renovate businesses along a historic portion of Blanco Street. A local non-profit, Midtown on Blanco, secured that Blanco was named a Texas Main Street program through the national Main Street Alliance. To announce Midtown on Blanco's selection as a Texas Main Street program was Laura Bush, wife of Texas Governor George W. Bush, and Jan Bullock, wife of Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock. The Midtown business district includes 3,500 households and 35 commercial properties; many of which provide a stable base of retail business operations for the surrounding neighborhoods. This unique opportunity will allow Fannie Mae to demonstrate it's corporate partnership in supporting both residential and commercial corridors.

Fannie Mae Breaks Down Information Barrier
Fannie Mae is vigilant to identify and break down barriers to home ownership. The lack of access to information can become less an issue, relays Congressman Henry Bonilla, "With HomePath.com and a partnership with the San Antonio Library, Fannie Mae again has broken down another barrier to home ownership, making it easier for more San Antonio families to purchase a home..." Fannie Mae has launched a partnership with all 18 San Antonio Public Library branches offering free home buying information to consumers on the internet at Fannie Mae’s Web site, HomePath.com. At the celebration, Mayor Howard Peak lauded Fannie Mae’s investment in San Antonio, providing housing to over 16,000 San Antonians.
