Synopsis: a strong upper level low pressure system will slowly move across Colorado today with strong northwest winds across the northeast Plains. Speeds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph will be common over The Plains and higher mountains this afternoon
Scattered snow showers will continue to fall over the higher mountains...especially along and west of the Continental Divide where an additional inch or snow may fall by evening. The winds and snow will decrease this evening.
Outlook for Saturday...high pressure will build back into the region with dry weather and warmer temperatures.
