Since everyone wants to freefall from 12,500 feet at a
speed of 130 mph, tandem jumps are the
way to experience the rush of skydiving!! In a static line jump
you are attached to the airplane by a static line or "dope rope."
They
call it that since you don't have the sense to enjoy the fun of freefall
;-) Immediately upon leaving the plane at 3500 feet, your
parachute is pulled out by the static line, thus you don't get to freefall.
You are under the parachute for a few minutes before you land. If you just
want a parachute ride, a para-sail pulled behind a boat can provide that !
The only reason static line is offered by some schools, is because it is less
expense and lures customers out to the airport where an attempt can be made to upgrade
them to a tandem. If you decide to do a
static line jump, you get what you pay for.... NO FREEFALL .
Since MILE-HI SKYDIVING CENTER wants to give
you the ultimate,
high speed thrill of freefalling, we do not offer static line jumps. It
doesn't cost that much more to have it all. You might jump out of a plane only once
in your life, so GO FOR IT, freefall from 2 miles above the earth!!
Check out a Tandem Fun Jump with us. You'll be glad you
did!
Tandem jumping is also 5 times safer than solo jumping (like static line)....
