On November 7, We received 3 new members into the life of our church. They give these statements below as an introduction:

Tina Book & Patti Helton - Thank you for the warm welcome to Park Hill Congregational Church.  We have been attending here off and on for a little over a year and recently were called to make our church membership official.  Patti moved to Denver in March 2003 from Harrisonburg, Virginia and Tina arrived from Washington, DC in August 2003.  We are pleased to find a church that resonates with our worship styles and values of community, diversity (inclusion) and social justice.   We look forward to getting to know all of you better and increase our involvement with the congregation.

Tara Flanagan-I came to Park Hill as a spiritual refugee of sorts. After attending services at other churches in Denver I came here and discovered that this is the place for me.  I feel like I wandered in and was immediately taken by the hand.  Everyone continues to be as gracious and welcoming as they were on the first day I came.  Last year I moved here from Fayetteville, Arkansas, to attend the Iliff School of Theology.  The Justice & Peace program at Iliff is one of the reasons the school appealed to me, and I feel blessed to have found a congregation that is similarly interested in social justice and active in the community. I am happy to be a member of Park Hill Congregational Church and look forward to our work and worship together.

Book Recommendation

PHCC member, Holly Fulton,  would like to recommend the book "Will They Ever Trust Us Again" by Michael Moore.  Moore's book contains letters from soldiers in Iraq, U.S. troops around the world, veterans, and US troops' families.  The book's appendix, as well as Moore's website (www.michaelmoore.com), offers information on ways to support our troops (how to send them items and messages), how to help Iraqis affected by the war, and what we can do to help end the war.  Perhaps we can have a Search and Discovery in the future addressing more detailed resources on these very important and needed actions.
